Handicrafts and Shopping

You will find all kinds of handicrafts in Merida, and even when they don't have many elements from the past, they are high quality products. The most recommended pieces are pottery, made of porous clay.

There are nice typical clothing pieces like "rebozos" (long shawl), embroidered huipiles (overskirts), the typical "guayabera" (shirts) made from all kinds of fabrics.

Do not forget about "enequen" hammocks, Yucatan's traditional fiber, also used to make purses, wallets, hats, shoes, tablecloths, slippers and belts.
