Northern Yucatan Tour/ Merida, Uxmal, Chichen Itza, Cancun

 The Yucatan is the Mecca for those interested in the Mayan Culture. Your tour will begin in Merida, a city built upon the ruins of the Maya capital of T'ho. Throughout the city you will see reminders of this city's past. As the largest city in the Yucatan as well as the most important commercial center, Merida is a natural jumping off point to your journey. We will then take you to Uxmal and close by Kabah, 1 1/2 hours from Merida. These two areas were important Mayan cities. Here you will visit many of the ancient ruins of these people and learn of their ways and history. Your final day will take you to Chichen Itza, the most famous of the Mayan ruins. The grand architecture of this former Mayan capital is unrivaled in all of the Yucatan. Here you will see El Castillo (the pyramid of Kukulcan) as well as many other breathtaking structures. Your journey will end in Cancun, one of the most exciting vacation destinations in the world.

Itinerary:
Day 1
You will be greeted at the Merida Airport by our friendly staff. You will then be taken to your hotel to relax and enjoy a day at leisure in Merida where you can take a walk in the parks, buy tropical hats and hammocks, as well as visit the many historical sites in the city. Our staff will be prepared to guide you in the right direction. Merida is, as it has been for many centuries, a major market town for the Maya people of the Yucatan.

Day 2
You will journey to Uxmal and Kabah. Here you will be guided through the histories of these two ancient Maya cities. Our guides will be prepared to lead you as well as answer any questions you might have. You will be treated to lunch and return to Merida in the late afternoon to spend the evening.
Day 3
Your final day will take you to the most famous of the Mayan sites, Chichen Itza. Here you will see on a grand scale the architecture of this people, including the Observatory, "El Castillo" and the Temple of the Warriors. Again, our guide will be there to help make your visit one that you will always remember. You will then be treated to lunch and a few moments to relax. In the afternoon it is off to Cancun where we will take you to your hotel or the airport.
